UPCET is an entrance test for students who are looking for admission to courses at the undergraduate level and postgraduate level at all affiliated institutes of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow is a State Government University. Formerly known as UPTU. Exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency.

For a student to join a B.Tech course, he/she has to appear for UPCET entrance examination and continue with the counselling process for admission into a government or private college. Through Management quota too, the student can get enrolled with university or colleges.

Eligibility Criteria – For B.Tech Admission, students should have completed 10+2 Physics and Maths are compulsory. For B.Tech Lateral Entry Students should have completed a three years Diploma in engineering from Institution with minimum 45% marks and 40% for SC/ST students.
