Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, formerly Indraprastha University is a state government university located in Delhi, Dwarka. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University conducts IPU CET exam every year so that students can apply to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in colleges which are affiliated to GGSIPU.
The full form of IPU CET is (Indraprastha University common entrance test ). Students join engineering, law, administration, computer application, journalism, mass communication, management, nursing, medical and many more fields. There are 120 colleges affiliated to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University of New Delhi. Out of 120 colleges, 35 colleges are government institutes affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi. The remaining 85 colleges are self-financed institutes affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. The colleges which are affiliated to IPU offer multiple undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD courses in multiple fields like engineering, management, nursing, medical, finance and many more.
When a student goes through the IPU counselling process. There are various rounds of counselling – first round, second round, third round, sliding around and spot round. The counselling process takes 1-2 months. The student has to visit the IPU official website and register for the counselling process, then the student has to pay a counselling fee which is INR 1000. Then the student has to upload documents according to the application form. After that, document verification is done and then students can choose colleges which he/she like to join for undergraduate or postgraduate courses. Choice filling is a process where students choose some of the colleges which they like and want to get enrolled.
Then the student has to wait for seat allotment through various rounds of counselling. After choice filling, the student joins the first round of counselling and waits for allotment of the college. After a week or 10 days students come to know whether a college is allotted or not. If the college is allotted, then the student visits the college and checks that campus. If the student finalizes to take admission in a particular college for a particular course, then the student has to pay 40,000 which is a part of the academic fee and click the Freeze option on the official website. After paying 40,000 academic fees through IPU Website, the student has reported to the college that I have been allotted a seat here and submitted documents like 10th mark sheet, 12th mark sheet, IPU CET Admit card, IPU CET Rank card, Aadhar card copy, Passport size photograph and print out of provisional allotment letter. Then pay the remaining academic fee. If the student did not like the campus then the student floats the seat, which means the student wants to go for further rounds of counselling.
