CUET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
- Aspiring candidates have to passed 10+2 with a least 50% marks as aggregate (45% of SC/ST candidates)
- Candidates should have a relevant subject in 10+2 to apply for any respective course.
- Candidates must be Indian citizens to appear for the CUET examination. A subject of Bhutan & Nepal are also allowed to appear for the examination.
- There is no age limit to appear for the CUET exam 2024.
- The number of attempts a applicant may take is unrestricted. Candidates might appear for the exam as a lot of times as desired as long as they meet all other qualifying conditions.
To appear for CUET 224, applicants must have passed Class 12th or any equivalent examination appearing in 2024 can apply for the examination. Also, there is no age limit to appear for CUET 2024.
The common university entrance test is a reconstructed version of CCET by the national testing agency. Till last year there were a few central universities that were a part of CUCET however from this year onwards it is going to be all the central universities as well as a few state and private universities which will be taking the common university entrance test into consideration. The CUET will hence open the doors of more than a few colleges & universities for students aspiring for the undergraduate programs.
The students are required to clear their 12th board examination from a recognized board. The student failing in more than two subjects are not allowed to appear for the exam. Students from Open board are allowed to appear for the exam. A cross-stream option is available for the students; they are allowed to switch their streams which make it possible for commerce or humanities student to appear for particular subject of science etc. While the central universities only consider your CUET score, the state and other private universities may take a weightage of your 12th boards examination result too. Hence it is of utmost importance to perform well in your 12th boards’ examination.
As per the notification from the National Testing Agency, the student’s CUET registration will be open from the April 2024 and the students can fill the forms by the May 2024. The students are expected to fill the registration form very clearly. It is observed that there are various international and regional languages introduced this year to the students. They can choose from more than 15 languages this year, as the main language they would like to appear their course in.
Students must make sure they check the exam patterns and sample papers from previous years so to prepare themselves in a better way accordingly. The exam is divided into two shifts; also it is optional to appear for the second shift. Students must do a thorough revision of their syllabus from NCERT books of classes 11th and 12th. More weightage will be given to the section of General Awareness, this call for going through your daily newspaper and keeping updated on current affairs.
In the last few years, it has been observed that the National Education Policy is bringing a change in the education pattern, it’s becoming a way of Education for All program, making it easy for everyone to go for higher education and educating and keeping them aware.
