12th CBSE Result LIVE Updates: Evaluation Criteria Out; Class 10, 11, Pre-Boards Marks To Be Considered
The CBSE Class 12 results will be declared by July 22, the board told the Supreme Court.
The CBSE told the Supreme Count in its affidavit that 14.5 lakh students had registered for the Class 12 CBSE exams. The assessment criteria shared with the court on June 17 will affect all because no exams were held.
CBSE’s Controller of Exams, Sanyam Bhardwaj said in his affidavit that the CBSE help schools compute results based on the assessment criteria “by establishing a help desk in CBSE and also by providing software help in addition to numerous other supports to the committee in preparing the result”
The 12-member committee formed by CBSE recommended a 30:30:40 formula. As per the formula, 30 per cent weightage will be given to Class 10 and Class 11 results respectively, and 40 per cent to Class 12 pre-board exams. Practicals will be for 100 marks and the students will be marked based on the marks submitted by the schools.
CBSE Class 12 Results: Class 12 Theory Marks
The marks for theory in Class 12 will be based on unit tests, mid-term or pre-board exams depending on what the school has conducted. But here the CBSE has granted schools the leeway to decide how much weightage to allocate to each of the exams. The CBSE affidavit in Supreme Court says, “The result committee of the school may decide weightage to be given to each exam based on the credibility and reliability of the assessment. For example, if the committee might be of the considered view that only the Pre-Board exams might be taken into consideration, then a full weightage can be given to that component. Similarly, another school Result committee might decide to give equal weightage to Pre-Board exams and Mid-Term exams.”
Class 11 final exam scores will account for 30% of the total weightage. Unlike in the case of Class 12 exams where schools have been permitted to decide which exam’s results to consider, for Class 11, only the “year-end final theory examination in respective subjects” will count.
