Admission to Law Colleges is purely entrance based now. There are hardly colleges which take direct admissions, students must prepare for various entrances that are taken in order to take admission to Law Colleges. The most important entrance test that is taken by most of the national law universities is CLAT followed by AILET, SET, SLAT, LSAT, AIL, Christ University. There are several other state level law entrance Tests too like PU LLB by Punjab, Law CET by Andhra Pradesh , MH CET by Maharashtra, CEE Kerala, by Kerala. A few more include DU, LLB, BHU VET, LSAT is taken by 85 private Law Colleges.
The reason that students should choose law as a career is because of the high demand of this profession in every industry, there are lawyers and legal advisors required to run, understand and provide advice in every business. The professions students can choose from after studying a 5 year integrated Law course are Advocate, Corporate lawyers, Judge (this requires many years of experience as an advocate with some exams), Legal Journalists, and Law Professor (PHD).
